Spring Roo

Roo aims to provide a rapid development environment for plain Java, which has been a long time coming. Using both active and passive code generation, Roo allows you to rapidly develop and efficiently maintain Java projects based on industry best practice and allowing swift integration of technologies like GWT, JPA, JTA, Flex, ActiveMQ, Selenium, and more. Roo should particularly appeal to someone in a role like architect, team lead, dev manager and to the intensely curious.

2011 Planning Meeting

Believe it or not, we only have two meetings left in 2010 after the August meeting, and it would be great to have your input regarding what should go into 2011. For those interested in helping plan the 2011 HJUG calendar, you are welcome to stay after Ryan's presentation, which should last about an hour.

I grew up tinkering with a Commodore 64. My first programming job was developing Java webapps in the Air Force, where I also got my degree in Computer Science. I was waiting in line for pilot training at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, when I decided I couldn't just leave computers behind, so I got out and landed a job at Rackspace, where I'm developing RESTful web services aimed at providing server and web monitoring to all customers via a uniform interface.
